A LITTLE ABOUT ME

I am a lover of stories, especially the ones that seem to be hidden just around the corner and out of reach. Times long past, leaning and abandoned houses, dark tunnels that lead to . . . where?

I grew up on the deliciously dark tales of Roald Dahl, the otherworldly adventures of Madeleine L'Engle, and the spine-chilling mysteries of R.L. Stine. I like to think that their worlds overlap with ours, especially when we crack open a book and certainly on Halloween, the greatest night of the year. I am at my happiest when I'm sliding down the hallway of the Haunted Mansion at Disneyworld, lamenting alongside Jack Skellington, stepping through the doorway with Coraline--or walking through the twisting alleyways in Small Hours!

I write from my home in Tennessee, but I am originally from San Diego and have lived all over the United States. I live with my husband, children, and three dogs, including the cleverest little Chihuahua named Mikey.

She has a Bachelor of Science in Anthropology and a Master of Arts in Humanities (philosophy & literature).
